Brakes

The parts that make up your vehicle's brake system (like brake pads, rotors, caliper, and brake fluid) wear down over time and will eventually need to be replaced. One of the most common auto brake repairs we perform at Wheels of Wanneroo is the replacement of brake pads (or shoes). Regardless of what they are made of (ceramic or metallic), brake pads wear down each time you step on the brake pedal – that's how they work to stop your vehicle!

If you allow your car brake pads to wear down too much without replacing them, the metal that holds the pads will make contact with the brake's metal rotors (or drums). This not only makes your brakes less effective (and less safe!) but also increases the wear and tear on your brake rotors/drums, meaning they will need to be replaced as well!

Suspension System

Your car's suspension system allows you to ride relatively undisturbed while travelling over rough roads. It also allows your vehicle to corner with minimum roll or sway, stop with a minimum of brake dive, and accelerate with a minimum of acceleration squat. This dynamic control keeps the tyres in contact with the road.

The components of your car's suspension system perform six basic functions:

  1. Maintain correct vehicle ride height

  2. Reduce the effect of shock forces

  3. Maintain correct wheel alignment

  4. Support vehicle weight

  5. Keep the tyres in contact with the road

  6. Control the vehicle's direction of travel

However, to ensure this happens, all of the suspension components, both front and rear, must be in good working condition.

Wheel Alignment

Our wheel alignment service will give you the best driving experience. It helps your vehicle drive smoother, your tyres last longer, and ultimately keeps your wheels pointed in the right direction. Just like how your shoes can wear, so do your tyres, and if your wheels are not properly aligned, they can wear unevenly.

A wheel alignment service is very important because it can expand the life of your tyres. Even the smallest alignment issue can result in an uneven tire wear. Once your wheels are properly aligned, it’s smooth cruising ahead, saving you tyre wear, fuel, and ultimately...money.

Tyre Installation

It's very important to perform regular tyre maintenance, not just for the safety of your family, but also to ensure a long lifespan for your vehicle. You are advised to always consult with your owner's manual in terms of finding the proper tyre size for the year, make and model of your vehicle. When you purchase new tyres, they have to be in sets of 4, or at least in matching groups of 2 on each axle. This extends the life of your new tyres and keeps your tyre wear even.

If you need help with your tyre purchase, some to us! We can help you compare tyre specifications and prices before you buy, to ensure you are getting the best new tyres for your needs and budget.

Tyre Balancing

Tyre Balancing is important to increase the basic safety of your vehicle and extend the life of your tyres. The certified technicians at our auto repair shop are here to help with all of your tyre balancing and tyre service needs.

Tyre balancing happens each time you replace your vehicle's tyres. Since tyres wear depending on road problems and driving practices, uneven wear can be visible after the initial 5000-6000 Kilometers of use. It’s important to check your tires balance every 9,400-11,000 KMs.

Tyre Rotation

Your vehicle's weight is not distributed evenly to all four corners. If you leave all 4 tyres just the way they are, some tyres would eventually wear out faster than others. We know that a tyre rotation is an essential part of making your tyres last longer. The tyre rotation process consists of moving your tyres from front to back, moving them from one side of your vehicle to the other or a combination of both.

Uneven tyre wear could bring about unsatisfactory gas efficiency, poor performance, reduce the life of the new tyre and can easily cause safety problems. Regular tyre rotation helps eliminate premature tyre wear and could save you a lot of money on new tyres. Visit our tyre shop and let our trained technicians rotate your tyres.

Tyre Inspection

Tyres need to be checked on a regular basis for damage, such as stones, nails or other sharp objects that may have penetrated the tyre. They also need to be checked for bulges, tears or cuts that might be the result of contact with road hazards. If you have doubts about the condition of your tyres, it's best to have them inspected by our technicians. Our tyre shop is known for performing top-notch tyre inspection services.
